Newsprint Tracker© Quarterly Reports

The Newsprint Tracker© Quarterly Reports, launched in 2002, have become the benchmark for analysis and forecasting of supply, demand and pricing trends in North American newsprint markets. Key points:

  • Published quarterly, about six weeks after the issuance of each quarter’s final newsprint numbers from the Pulp & Paper Products Council.

  • Forecasts North American usage, production, net exports, inventory change and pricing, for each quarter of the current calendar year and the next calendar year, and also by year for the next five years.

  • Forecast charts and tables are supplemented by text explaining the assumptions and reasoning behind the forecasts.Typical length of the main report is about 55-60 pages. A chapter is dedicated to each element (North American usage, production, net exports, inventory change and pricing).

  • An appendix chapter offers two alternate forecasts, a Low Case and High Case, varying one or more key assumptions to explore the impact of such changes on pricing, providing sensitivities around the Base Case forecast.

  • In addition to the main report, a PowerPoint™ Executive Summary is included, describing the report’s conclusions at a high level, suitable for a quick read and also for internal or external presentations by the subscriber.

  • For 2008 only, subscribers to the Newsprint Tracker© Quarterly Reports also receive a complementary one-time, one-year subscription to the Newsprint Tracker© Monthly Briefing (please follow link on left side of page for details about this important new product).

  • Subscription cost: US$4,500 per year, including four quarterly reports.
